The story of how a few brave men and women banished the Gods to the realm of the unconscious - a place they called the Underworld or the Kingdom of Hades. The series follows the protagonist as he seeks the truth about his past, which may be intertwined with the Gods themselves.

Medea enters into a deadly pact with the demon goddess Circe. Hero, Daedalus, and Oracle must put away their differences, so that Medea can head off Circe long enough for them to find the door to Olympus. During all this, they receive persecutions by the god Hermes. When they finally arrive at the door, what they discover stuns them.
It is freezing from the cold in the Throne Room, and Hero and Medea are trapped there because of it. Hero has a vision sent from Mother Gaia. Hero cannot get to the door of Olympus, without help from Daedalus and Medea. Medea tells Hero that Oracle is critical to their journey to Olympus. While Medea is trapped, she is visited by two ghosts of people who she remembers from her past. Hero finishes the first of multiple mysterious sacrifices, but he has to figure out which mysterious sacrifice comes next. He suspects it has something to do with King Aegeus. Hero goes in search of the door to Olympus. At the start of his journey, Daedalus unintentionally gives Hero directions that will end him up someplace perilous, so Medea runs after him before something tragic happens. Meanwhile, Oracle has made a bad deal with Minos, and the brave Lykos tries to save his father the King.
King Minos invades Athens and only being given the Lexicon will halt his onslaught; Hero devises a bold plan that could put him on the road to Olympus, or to ruin.
Hero and Medea travel to the Temple of Aphrodite where he receives a grim prophecy; Medea's warrior sister arrives to reclaim her sacred ring.
Medea and Aegeus work to persuade Hero to solve the riddle of the Lexicon in hopes that he'll use his power to save Athens. However, Hero's skeptical of their true intentions and unsure of the course of action he should take.
Hero makes his way to Athens to confront King Aegeus, only to be arrested and turned over to Prince Lykos, who has discovered Hero's identity and is out for blood. Back at the Minoan camp, Daedalus unveils his plans for the ultimate war machine.
Hero, Oracle and Daedalus are kidnapped by ruthless Minoans and brought before King Minos and his sadistic daughter Ariadne, who subjects the trio to vicious torture. Meanwhile, the situation in Athens grows more dire, compelling Medea to arrange for a mercenary to pull off a rescue mission.
